Gayatri Joshi

Gayatri Joshi is pursuing a dual degree in a Master’s in social work and Public Health at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work and the University of Texas Health. She completed a BS in Public Health with a minor in Women’s Studies from UH. She currently works UH as a graduate assistant in the M. D Anderson library, Carey C. Shuart Women’s Archive & Research Collection.

Eesha Pandit

Eesha Pandit

Eesha Pandit is co-founder of the Center for Advancing Innovative Policy (CAIP). She is a writer and activist and brings over a decade of thought leadership, policy and strategic communications expertise to the SAYHU team. Eesha has worked in the fields of reproductive justice, ending violence against women, and international human rights. She studied at Mount Holyoke College and the University of Chicago.

Dr. Rachel Afi Quinn

Dr. Rachel Afi Quinn

Dr. Rachel Afi Quinn is an assistant professor of Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies and Comparative Cultural Studies at University of Houston. She earned a Ph.D. in American Culture from the University of Michigan and a B.A. at Wesleyan University. Dr. Quinn’s research and teaching focuses on globalization, transnational feminist theory, race, gender and the Caribbean. She is committed to mentoring young Houstonians from all walks of life.

Saneea Sakhyani

Saneea Sakhyani

Saneea Sakhyani is a Pakistani-American history Ph.D. student at the University of Houston, studying twentieth-century U.S. immigration, migrations, race, ethnicity, and global foodways. She is working towards a graduate certificate in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies, and her dissertation on the Pakistani Diaspora in the U.S.

Srushti Mahamuni

Srushti Mahamuni

Srushti Mahamuni strives to practice an intersectional feminist decolonial politics. Equipped with a background in gender studies and international development, she currently works at Daya by day and moonlights as a sex-positive-sex- ed blogger by night. Srushti has previously worked and lived in Europe, East Africa and South Asia and her travels inform her politics and vice versa. When she is not working or activisting, you will find her watching 90's Bollywood movies or dancing the night away in a local gay bar.

Noorulanne Jan

Noorulanne Jan

Noorulanne Jan is a law student at the University of Texas School of Law. She approaches her work through a trauma informed lens and is dedicated to serving indigent and migrant communities. She is a born and raised Houstonian and wants to spend the rest of her life in the best city in the world. Noorulanne appreciates the intersection of the legal and social work fields; she especially takes an interest in tackling social inequities through radical leftist lawyering. When she's not at the law school, she is teaching ESL at Austin Community College or advocating for workers' rights.
